was anyone affected by storm last night

Hi all, was anyone in Melbourne/Vic affected by the storm last night?
I was on a plane from Sydney and there was a fair bit of turbulance. We also had to be put on a holding flight path until the storm clears and Melb Airport reopened. Didn't land until 9pm. 3 hours strapped in a plane seat aint excactly fun. I actually felt queasy (partly because my nose and ears were all blocked up from recovering chest infection and hayfever). Anyway, glad to be home in one piece.

A very nasty cell clobbered me in South Oakleigh (Melbourne) around 7pm. Literally went dark outside. 2cm hail, about 20mm in 15 minutes. Yard and street became a lake. Thankfully it was fast moving. Photos on The Age website show it coming in.

Scope was inside

3 hour flight from Sydney-to Melbourne! that is some storm to slow up a regular flight, that is a short distance (for a jet plane).

Would have been rather unpleasant-glad that you have to feet on the ground now Bo.Wonder how much fuel those planes carry-for such a short run,it would likely to be fuelled up for a few of the same runs-To be up that long on a hour flight-the airline would have burnt some extra fuel on that flight.

Look forward to links in 'Age' of piccies.

We had a pretty large storm blow through last night, I think it was the remnants of what went through Victoria earlier.
