Wildlife by the Baz

Two from yesterday with the new 100-400L. I am loving this new lens (AKA the dust pump). Going out for more practice with it this afternoon.

Baz.

#1 Red wattlebird. Some of them have distinctive red wattles (fleshy bits) hanging off their cheeks. This one has them but they are underdeveloped.

#2 Gippsland water dragon

Great colours in the water dragon Baz! Looks like a great lens. (It's been on my wish-list for a while... but there's too much other stuff on the list!)

Cheers,
Stephen

Although the bird is good Baz the water dragon wins this one mate, very crisp, enjoy your new toy.

+1 Leon's comment;the bokeh in the dragon is great.Lovely L lens, thought about this one,but very pleased with the 400 L prime-I am now addicted to primes. My son is looking at buying the 100-400L,so will be looking at your images

The only reason I bought the zoom instead of the prime is because I will be doing a lot of stuff from camouflaged hides where I can't move forward or back to compose, plus a lot from the kayak at the water's edge. I won't have the flexibility to move at will in the boat, so I need zoom.

Otherwise I would have bought the prime in a heartbeat. Mind you, the IS was another carrot.

Baz.
