It has been Hell on Earth on and off since 4am this morning. We have just had our 5th storm come through about 40 minutes ago with more on the way.

Each storm is huge. My son Jake and I got stuck in one this afternoon and we had to pull into a side road out in the country. We watched most of it until we had to get inside the car and protect ourselves! Large hail, massive wind, lightning landing all around us, and flash floods.

I have to go pick up my other son in Ballarat at 10pm tonight right when another one is due to come through, and it must be a beauty coming as they are now running a warning banner about it across the bottom of the TV!

These aren't small storms! Each one packs a whopping punch and does damage.

Here is the current Rain (green) and lightning (white, red, blue) Map:

AWESOME day here in SE Melbourne! Saw the huge cells down towards the Peninsula, looked very impressive from my place. Got a few shots aswell. About 7pm, it literally turned pitch black from the west, I've never seen such dark cloud before. Constant lightning, even had hail the size of golf balls! Then was treated to a nice lightning display to the N/NE, thunder literally uninterrupted for a good 15 mins. HUGE day, storms everywhere. Lightning tracker is incredible, basically an unbroken line from Tassie up to the Northern Territory!

Here is a radar image of the beast that hit the SE suburbs. I am between Dandenong and Pakenham.

I'm in the east. so far the storms have all mainly missed. just a gentle pitter patter of rain. At few flashes of lightning and a quiet rumbling in the distance. There were VERY dark clouds around sunset however, but they seem to have continued going south east. Not sure at this stage if the second have has hit or not.

I would like to upload a photo from my mobile of the dark clouds:
