i personally won't be there as i am planning and saving for the planetary nude romp to rockhampton in june 2007 for jupiter with bird, rumples and any other guys interested in great seeing and a flippin big planet called jupiter!!!
Damien Peach goes to Barnados, we are go to rocky!!!
My honest opinion re Snake valley in November is that someone needs to stand up and organise and they will come. Both Ken and Dave47tuc have done great jobs doing the last two, but someone needs to step into their shoes if it is to happen!!!
pm dave47tuc or myself if you are that person and we can help point you in the right direction re costs etc.
the camp sells itself, it is just a matter of getting a weekend, collecting money and who will be there etc
If no-one wants to organise, then my personal opinion is that it won't happen!!!

I can tell you it's a lot of effort organising an event like that as well. The last one was great with Ken and John (xstream) organising it all. This one just gone sounded great with Ken and Dave47Tuc (and DP) organising it all.
But whoever plans on organising it, be aware it is a lot of work, especially if you're expecting a decent crowd there, which I'm sure there would be.

It does not have to be Snake Valley, but I think we should have a Victorian IIS event somewhere later this year.

Dates for the camp
The date for the next camp at snake valley are 17-20 November 2006, the camp has been booked and will go ahead as planed.
here is the original tread about the camp:
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...light=november
The contacts for this camp are:
Me and Ken, if anyone else would like to help please PM me about this.
All the details for the camp will be posted in August.
I would like to express Ken's concerns!: "annoyed and hurt' that because I am not active I have been disregarded" these were his words to me today in regards to some of the comments in this thread.

That is great news about the November camp. I think most people who read this thread might have forgotten about the early plans for the 2006 Nov camp.

Firstly, let me say that I had a terrific time this week-end at the Snake Valley Camp. Thanks Dave Tuc for getting it together. It was great to catch up in person again with all of you.

Davo, surely your memory isn't that bad! It is in the Star Camps thread to read.

I very much doubt this will go ahead. 99.9% sure.

Dave, where does this from?

Thanks guys for the vote of confidence. Did any of the 3 of you at camp bother to walk up to me during the 3 days you just spent with me and ask, "Is November Camp still on?"
To make it official (again), YES, the November Camp is on!!!!!!

Well, I'm excited it's still on . I'd asked over the weekend and been told that it would be going ahead, so as soon as I got home I started organising it with my partner. I'm going to bring my partner and kids next time and do all the touristy things in Ballarat as well.
Thanks for organising it Ken and Darren
Looking forward to catching up again,
Jodie

Why would it get deleted?
I don't know what you think I said wrong, Ken.. I said "whoever organises it, it's a lot of work". That includes you, does it not?

Sorry Ken, I myself have forgotten that plans for November were under way, and my posts here were just in response to comments above that I naively assumed were from those in the know. Dave mentioned that he would maybe like to organise something near Lake Eildon next year. But on the w/e I was having too much fun to be already thinking about the next camp. I'd love to do the camp again in November this year.
Ken, your efforts in getting us together and organising these fantastic events are much appreciated whether that is officially part of IIS or not. IIS is just one way of reaching people and encouraging interaction between people who share a common interest. This site got us together in the first place but it is the means not the end. I am sorry you no longer want to participate in IIS, but this does not make me any less grateful for what you have already done for so many of us.

Steve, Mike and others, sorry for the outburst.
It really amazed me and got me angry how the next Camp was just shoved aside without anyone asking first.
A very good friend (John 'xstream') has had a talk with me and helped calm me down, and I thank you very much John.
On we go, until November.

Yes smack me down I got it all wrong.
I must stick to observing than presuming things.
I'm feeling bad right now so I will go away.

I hope to make it I really do, not sure about having a scope now though, read other thread regarding 16" GSO.
I now will have another possibility of not being able to make it due to having another member of the family popping out around the same time.
Our bank balance took a major tumble today too with the hot water service blowing up.
AHHHH Well.......
Look forward to being there Ken and all..

I think we all need to remember a couple of things:
1. Everyone is human, and forgetful (me foremost)
2. Nobody would intentionally say anything insulting or hurtful.
When you see something wrong or incorrect it might go a long way if the first assumption is simply that someone made an error, and it can be simply corrected with a polite word.
regards, Bird

After recieving Phones calls from the 2 Daves all is cleared up.
Someone said something to someone else about another viewing spot and was over heard and that person thought the Nov Camp was being moved there and told someone else and round it went that the November Camp at Snake Valley was not on. All is worked out now how it all happened.
As Astroman said "it's better to find out straight from the horses mouth".
November Snake Valley is definately on.

Well said Bird! You not only take great images. You are also a welcome voice of reason.
Great to hear about the camp Ken. I'm all for it! I'm ready to book as soon as bookings are open. These events are a lot of fun!

The more camps the merrier in my book
Us southerners dont get out and hook up as much as our northern brothers and maybe that can change
Im glad all at Snake Valley had a great time.

Less than 6 months to go
The details will be forthcoming soon, as to the cost, times and booking info.
Booking early will help us work out the numbers and the required bunks houses for families.
