NGC224/M31/Andromeda @ 200mm

Hi Astro-lianos

I havent astro-imaged since Feb, So took a chance out at Leyburn last weekend, seeing/transparency was not great, Frinight was best @ 6/10 at times ! I was quite fortunate to purchase an 'L'series Canon 70-200 F/2.8 Lens which has been dying for some sky ? Very happy with its performance in such conditions, so thought to share a humble effort ?

Here is 4x3min exposures @ 200mm unguided of Our neighboring Galaxy Andromeda 2.5 miilion LY distant which apparently caught the attention of Captain James Cook back then !

Wow, that's really cool. I love Andromeda's dust lanes.

I might have a to make a trip north, because it sits just below the horizon, here.

Better check the star atlas again Shane! From Sydney it gets to around 17 degrees above the horizon IIRC.

Cheers,
Jason.

Hi Bob,

Great photo.

I love M31 and your photo is an excellent wide shot of it.

Thanks.

Appreciate all the comments everyone !

Hope to get another go with better conditions with more time as you do ? I think the 200mm is a great scale for this Target
