not quite an Orionid Meteor

Hi all,

Well this was the only meteor I could capture during the Orionid Meteor shower Had to process this a bit to get it to show up enough, draw back from not having a fast lens... I am kicking myself as I could have used my old 50mm f1.8 for this one, since it was in the middle of the frame, even though this image is cropped a little.

12 frames stacked then meteor frame stacked in Photoshop. Did this to reduce background noise. Canon 400D, Canon 17-40mm f4L USM lens, ISO800 1m 30s exp. Tracking via Orion Teletrack (yes you do notice the field rotation)

Thought I better add that this is not of an Orionid Meteor, but a sporadic meteor which just happened to look like it came from Orion, the Meteor travelled Left to right in the frame....

Good capture there Andrew. Nonetheless it does visually "originate" from Orion so even though it may not be an Orionid, the visual impact is there.

Cheers,
Darrin...
