Between the weather, work, family and anything else that conspires to keep me out of the observatory i am getting depressed. The depressing part is after relocating the titan mount in there and the 14" thats about all i have done....... still have to drift align, set up everything. the way things are i probably wont get in there until Christmas with my wife having an op next week. We need a dial an astronomer help line
i don't know how many out there are suffering, but this is a national crisis
I have an observatory, let alone poor old Mr Sidonio - he even had his imaging laptop stolen and is suffering the same weather patterns......when will we ever get a fair go?
I'm hearin' ya. We all go through seasons bro, some good, some bad, but the sailor who has weathered storms is a better one than he who has had smooth sailing all his life.
Can't be good all the time, David
Hope your wife gets through it all and she has a quick recovery.
Remember it's all Kama, what goes around comes around.
Keep looking up
Threads like this _are_ depressing and remind me why I will always be a visual observer . It only takes me 5 seconds to grab my 10 X 40 roof prism binoculars off the hook by the back door and to be scanning for familiar stars and clusters even when the sky is partially cloudy. The universe is always available to me, and I have only myself to blame if I don't grab it for even 5 minutes on a regular basis. Life is just simply too short for excuses
Agreed Mark.
My binos are on the bench at the back door too. Along with a sheet of canvas, so I can lie down and cruise the sky in comfort.
How's the serenity.....

Yeh the NRMA is taking its time, I'm getting a little peeved actually
Is that fairdinkum Chris?? ...man 17, really? I was lamenting not having imaged since 29 July, now I'm felling a little better
Mike
Absolutely true Mike. I'm on the verge of finding more time and money for music and less for astronomy. I'm as frustrated with this sport as anyone could be. A decent imaging session could save it... it's been, as I said, well over a year since I had a decent fix. Not sure if anyone has noticed that I haven't posted anything for quite a while now.
I think that I have the record. I've now set up my entire rig 17 times in a row - to the point of polar alignment - and not imaged due to weather.
You've all some ways to go. This is well over a year for me.
Roll on Lostock. I hope.
Time to build an observatory, at least then it's a quick setup.
Melbourne to be clear monday Tuesday, Wednesday ...... Whoo hoo
With a possibility for tonight. ( bet it will change by the time it comes around)
