Hello all
Even with 17" of aperture at f6.8, this object requires significant cumulative exposure.
Otherwise known as the Ghost Nebula of course, this LRGB image is 18 hours in total. I pondered for a while as to why the vast majority of the stars in this image had this brown tinge to them and kept going back to check my RGB. Then I realized its all the dust!

Fantastic image Martin. The top piece of dust looks a bit like CG4 with a facelike front structure.

That's different, the dust has given it an almost monochromatic look. The backlit detail stands out well

I bet the dust signal was very weak? These dark nebula are being brought to the forums very frequently now and this is very inspiring. Don't know if the dust could be brought out any more but certainly top quality.

A dusty looking image. The dust is well shown and the noise is non existent. The detail is awesome. Maybe just the blue stars look a little muted to me. However, fantastic image, wish it was my data.

Yes John, the dust was very weak, so it was a challenge to emphasise it without introducing noise through over-stretching.

This is really a very beautiful object Martin and one I don't think I've ever seen!
So much dust... and really just dust enhance by the star/s within or behind... I guess some HII activity??
The 'little' ghosts and the main structure have a lovely delicate appearance while being defined very nicely.
Also the sharpness of your stars, and, the larger stars look exquisite!
Really, a very interesting object indeed!
