Ahh, long weekend - nice! We don't have one at the start of October this year, been moved to the 28th due to CHOGM. But that coincides with the ASWA Astro Camp weekend so that'll be great when it comes

Hows your Supernova Search progressing?

Hi Peter ... I've made great progress with my SN searching actually, very happy with where I've got to recently. Lots of iterative improvements to my selection of galaxies is paying off, and I now have pre-configured scripts for each RA. So, for a given night I just choose the starting RA and it's ready to go, stopping at twilight, wherever it gets to WRT RA. Each RA has a focus star pre-configured etc. I now have a license for Maxim's SN tool too, so have been getting used to that. I spent quite a while working with a friend on auto-detection processing, but his interest has fizzled I think, and I don't have the expertise to finish it off.
The main problem has been our relatively normal winter! The last couple were bone dry with little cloud and rain - great for astronomy, but the landscape suffered heavily. This year the last 4 months have been 90% cloud and quite a bit of rain, which I'm very very happy about, but has resulted in only a handfull of nights in the last few months for astronomy
I actually had a run going last night
