Skywatcher Carbon Fibre Newts.

Some time back there was some chatter about 8, 10 and 12 inch carbon fibre F4 newts coming from skywatcher.

I see on a British forum that deliveries started last month over there and I see them listed at a couple of dealers sites here so I was wondering if anyone here has seen/got one yet?

I see them very light. I believe that will surely have problems bending and twisting by the fire with the CCD placed.

CF is very dimensionally stable, I don't expect them to change shape at all - unless of course you set fire to them.

Jennifer CF is stable if constructed properly and with the right size. The telescopes such as ASA have many problems of stability.

Would be very interesting, my concern would be twisting and deformation at where the focuser is attached to the tube, this is a typical fault with the gso 12 inch scopes, although that was sold as a dob, not really an imaging scope.
For it to be an imaging scope this area needs to be considerably strengthened , I just wouldn't be the first to buy one. But a 12 inch F4 would be a very formidable scope.
Upon another note though, just slapping one of these on a less than substantial mount can be done, but any wind will create issues with tube movement.

this is an interesting solution for the Newton, they do so and has a 250 mm with 1120 mm focal length. You should look good all the pictures to see how well they did. All other twist.

I bought a RC 250 f 8.5 and Dall Kirkham f 250 f 20.

Yes, you have 2 telescopes but want a bigger one!

The Italian sky does not allow the use of very large telescopes. We have a seeing and a very high light pollution. I chose two specialized telescopes to fit in a single mount.
In the future I think of a 350 mm f 14 with classical cassegrain reducer and flattener, I'm talking to the manufacturer.

I'll put a video where you can also see the 350 mm with the cells.
