IC2174 region

IC2174.

I didn't realize there was an extensive amount of reflection nebulae in the field so I had to take a crash course into extracting the blue when using Ha as luminance.

LHaRGB 3 hr Ha 1 hr R, 1 hr G, 1 hr B.
BRC-250 scope, ST-X10ME.

70% resolution.

Very nice! I have done a couple of wide fields including this neb and it's a lovely area of the sky.

Cheers,
Rick.

Nice color balance Steven, however it seems to me that the image is a bit too soft, perhaps due to a strong noise reduction routine applied that smeared the finest details..

Just mt 2c

Thanks Marco. The softness is due to 4-5 arcsecond seeing during luminance imaging.

Steven

Here is slightly more aggressively sharpened image without compromising the overall smoothness.

Nicely done Steven. Second rendition has improved. I don't mind the smooth appearance, though as has been noted its a fine line to not losing detail. Colour balance looks spot on. Well done.

Nice Steven although it does appear a bit smooth and smudgy. I prefer to see a bit of noise and a bit brighter image.
