Winter is here...

....so my run of autumn imaging has come to a close. Snow is forecast for Thursday of this week

I was working on another hybrid-mosaic image but this one is sort of backwards. I used the FSQ/OSC combo to record the region and then layered over it a 6 panel h-alpha mosaic taken with the RHA/16803 combo. I really wanted more H-alpha data but the weather will not allow. So, this is what I was left with; a different view of a familiar object:

Not as good as Ken Crawford's recent amazing image of IC59_63 (Ken's a Pro anyway!), but maybe not too bad?

Hello Tom

Wow - you have a RHA? Extremely jealous, particularly as I now see what they can produce. Lovely image really.

Snow forecast at SRO later this week as well.

clear skies!

Hi Tom, this is the first time I believe I see the full extend of the nebula. To me this is a very nice rendering of the area and showing something unusual, that to me is one of the best added value a great astro photographer can contribute! Congratulation for a fine result

Marco
