The Silver Coin Galaxy

Hello,

Well we finally managed to get a windless, clear and reasonable night on Sunday. We setup the Astrograph in the backyard after carting the heavy stuff downstairs doing havoc to my poor surfers back

Imaged NGC253 (an old favourite).
8" Newtonian Astrograph. f/4.
Unguided NEQ6pro
Pentax K-x @ 1600 iso.
2 minute subs x 10 + flats + darks and Bias frames.
Processed with DSS 3.3beta PS CS2.

Balnarring has a rather good night sky. There was a blue hue during the night but after 2330hrs the hue changed to a deep red. I considered an Aurora but I figured maybe all the domestic lighting went off

Regards Paul.

Tnx

Thank you Leon and Ross

Ngc253 is an object that tests the ability of your scope to pick out detail I think!

Regards Paul.

Not sure yet, Paul. Less than 50 percent at this stage.
