It's only a bargain if the final price is low, this still has a long way to go.

Cheers,
Jason.

It is also worthwhile noting the very explicit disclaimer regarding the overall condition and especially the mirror. The vendor is to be commended for their candid description but you have to do your sums as to whether repair is really worthwhile in our current climate with the strong AUD and what you can buy these days. As the expression goes with optics 'what are great optics for some are a fuzzy mess for others". PS - Don't forget the missing control cable either - I am sure that will be easy to replace.

Sounds like this scope has been silently watched by a few already so you can forget about any "bargin" to be had as there will no doubt be a mad flurry of sniper bids in the last 5 seconds of the auction clock.

Given that we are playing the 'price is right' I predict between $400-$700

An 8' Ultima (the later better model) went for roughly $700 earlier this year on ebay and an 8' LX90 went for a $1000 about 2 months ago here so anything higher than that for a scope that the vendor openly states has problems is for someone with more $$$ than grey matter.

The last 10 seconds of the auction will certainly be fun to watch when all the would-be bargin hunters come out of hiding.

Curiosity got the better of me and I contacted the vendor. He has advised me that he has a remarkable "80+ people watching this auction" and unfortunately is unable to accommodate any prior inspections of the scopes condition.
