NEWS FLASH "6 Months of Solid Rain Forcast for South East Queensland"

ONLY JOKING

Hi All,

***Just received this breaking news from the Bureau of Meteorology 6th Sept 2011***

South East Queensland, Australia is forecast for the rainiest Spring/Summer during the year 2011 in all recorded history with continuous cloud cover and rainy days expected for the foreseeable future.
Scientists have advised this is due primarily to a phenomenon that causes havoc globally on unsuspecting victims of excitement and optimism “commonly referred to as Murphy’s Law.

It is strongly advised to take whatever opportunity you can to use your astronomical equipment prior to this even starting.

I want to personally apologise in advance as this weather is due to set in later this week when my new equipment I have purchased arrives (I just can't wait, it's like Christmas)

Cheers

Anthony

Your title had me shaking in my blue fluffy slippers...
Scared and horrified to the bone even....
Am sure my heart also skipped a beat.
Why? I thought it was for real.
Like, we need more rain.

Who's going to get him?

Hi Suzy,

Sorry I probably should have spared a thought for those affected by the floods. My Bad.

Was only intended as a joke as I am expecting my new kit later this week and as always the clouds roll in and the rain start as soon as you get any new toy LOL.

Cheers

well I'm glad you're willing to take the blame Anthony. It'll take the heat off the rest of us planning purchases in the near future.

I'll give you a hint, it's in Brisbane but shouldn't be hard to find, just look for the swirling black clouds amasing above and head for the centre of them you should find me there.

Your forgiven {hugs}
But as penance, you have to answer my three questions on my current thread.

P.S. This said new toy better be worth more than 60mm of apperture for the health issues you put me through. .
So...what is it???

Hi Suzy,

Done I have answered the three questions/paid my penance

In regards to the kit, I have purchased a full set up as follows:

William Optics Zenith Star 70 Telescope
William Optics Megrez 90 with DDG Telescope
William Optics Adjustable Field Flattener version 4
Orion Star Shoot Autoguider Camera
EQ6 Pro Synscan Mount
Skywatcher GPS Module
William Optics Dovetails and plates
Plus some extra bits and pieces

Very excited as my existing kit is all on an EQ3 and while great for visual use not very good for astro photography. Now I have both setups so can enjoy the visual experience inbetween AP shots

the delivery wait is killing me when are they going to invent instant teleportation?????

Cheers

Anthony

Crikey...
No blinking wonder you're excited and issued pending warning.
I'm almost too scared to ask what the extra bits and pieces are.

You obviously score brownie points very well with your other half. Or.. she can't wait to throw you out that door when it gets dark.. (teasing!) Tho in my case it's mostly true.
Nice, very nice Anthony!
Congratulations!
That being said, it will take 1 x pic of the Andromeda galaxy from you to completely gain my health back.
Posted on the forum is fine, I mean.. if you don't want to take the trouble of framing and posting it to me that is...

Sheeez I have you working hard on your own thread don't I?!

Yeh I had to be fair to those in the region, if I so much as buy a barrel extender I cloud out Brisbane for a week

All up the kit was a complete set up so other bits and pieces are just eye pieces and cables etc, but yes still very excited

The wife, she is a treasure and I am very lucky indeed. Or perhaps she is happy to throw me out the door, I never thought of that but now you mention it ???? hmmmm???

I promise as soon as I get a decent piccy of the Andromeda galaxy I will post and send you a PM just to make sure you have a complete recovery.

Any yes you do but all good

Cheers
