Pied Butcher bird.
Not a favourite bird,but it was a good bird to practice some bird photography on.

very nice, especially the detail and catch light in the eye, i wonder if cloning out the white limb extending from the back would help, it sort of draws your gaze. thats the only thing (very minor) that i would attempt to change

Agreed, the hook on the tip of his beak looks great, as does the dead stump. Lovely work.

Lovely shot Chris. I really like the pose and the little bit of shadow falling from the brow just across the base of the beak. I like the bit of stump above the bird as well. Keeps the naturalness of the pose. And I do love Butcherbirds.
