Day trip to visit 75south

What a great day, I admire those early explorers even more now !

All pictures taken with hand held Pentax *ISTD with 28-300mm from the window of a 747.

Mike, I tried to get some IIS publicity Ch9 was on board doing a bit for Getaway - was wearing my Lostock Tshirt.

I wonder how long it would take you to get your mirror to ambient there At least you'd have good transparency when it's not blizzarding

Lovely shots Chris

I wonder how much crispness you lost with the airline tinted windows? Who was the getaway presenter?? Did you leap out of the crowd to show off the tshirt? How many happy snaps did you take, looks awesome, almost like it was pleasant down there!

Gee thats a lot of questions

Im sure the windows, a speed of over 500kph and reducing a 2meg image to 150kb all contributed to a loss of detail.

Didnt actually leap i just casually strolled around, dont know who the presenter was they stayed downstairs probably in 1st class.

And yes it did look pleasant from where I was, camera in one hand champers in the other. Took about 200 pictures and 2 short avis with the Olympus, probably 100 worth viewing due to duplicates and too much vignetting and glare from the window .

Tip - not worth taking a wide angle because of the vignetting, 28-200mm would cover it, 300 was a bit shaky.

33South meets 75South.
I was so looking forward to these.
Awesome trip Chris.
Was it cold up/down there?

I can just imagine you wearing an Ice In Space T-Shirt on the first Galactic flight to space in a few years.

They're great mate.
Did you do the compass thing that we talked about?
