've been trying to tease this monster out of his hole for the last few days. The other day he came out and had a go at me, then proceeded to chase me a short distance. They he went back in his burrow and sulked, refusing to come out again. Today, finally, he decided to come out and play and play nice he did too!
The garden wolf spider, Lycosa godeffroyi, is one of the most widespread species of wolf spider in Australia and common across the southern and eastern mainland. Wolf spiders are large, robust spiders growing up to 25 mm in body length. They are grey-brown in colour with a pattern of bars on the abdomen and radiating marks on the head and thorax.
