Antares wide field

38 frames 15, 10, 7, 5 and 3 minutes - 3.5 hours - the usual master bias, dark and flat frames, processed in Pixinsight.

Canon 1000D - 200mm (320mm) f/3.2 iso800 CLS-CCD filter.

Thanks for looking. Happy to receive feedback on ways to improve.

Very Nice Rowland - that beautifully resolved glob speaks volumes.
Sweet processing - well done.
I'm currently struggling to bring the best out of a 70mm FL image of the same region.

Love what you've done

Doug

Thanks Doug. Amazing how an organised approach even with minimal equipment can produce satisfying results. It was a surprise to me too. Desperately need that pier and permanent set up. Bit disappointed in the polar alignment, but had to trade off time availability.

Looking forward to seeing the 70 mm FL image. It's a magnificent region of the sky.

It is lovely piece, I cannot see this area of the sky at home due to light pollution but hope to get it at a reasonable time soon.

Great photo Rowland.

The 200mm lens gives such a great FOV.

Ross.

Thank you all for the encouragement. The image is cropped by about 25 - 30% reducing the top and side margins. It was great to get out and do this - loved every moment.

I think it looks very nice Rowland, this area is usually presented with a little more yellow/blue but I like the red in yours.

Thank you Mike. I take your point. This is a more balanced version.

I didn't think the first one had anything wrong with it, I liked the red. It is nice to see some variations in colour presentations sometimes
