This is a very robust and portable big telescope. Great for planets, deep sky objects, galaxies, star clusters etc! Easily trasportable-I've easily transported
it in a 2 door hatchback car or these days I keep it set up and just wheel
it outside or a trolley when I want to use it.
The primary mirror is a
Coulter Odyssey mirror (made in the US) and performs very well. I have full
mirror test reports for anyone interested. Its set on a detachable 18 point
mirror cell (for easy transportation). Accesories include:
Eyepieces: 22mm and 15mm Televue Panoptic eyepieces
Barlow Lens: 2X Meade 1.25 inch
Coma Corrector: 1.25 inch Televue Paracorr
Filters: Lumicon OIII filter (nebular), Celestron LPR filter, Polarising
filter, Neutral filter for moon glare reduction, all 1.25 inch.
It also comes with 2 US Digital S2 high resolution digital setting circles,
and for something different, a generation 1 triple stage image intensifier
(great for intensifying faint images). Also a robust portable observing
seat.
Construction of the telescope has been high quality and robust.
I bought this scope for NZ$4600 a few years ago. Good buy even at that price, but will sell for about NZ$4000.
Finally, I also usually use this scope with an Argo Navis and a 13mm
Televue Ethos eyepiece. Would be happy to sell these at a reasonable price,
but they are not included in basic telescope price.
