VST Image of Omega Centauri
Hi,
I came across this image from the VST telescope (Very Large Telescope Survey Telescope) of Omega Centauri.
the zoomify image is pretty cool
http://www.eso.org/public/images/eso1119b/zoomable/
http://www.eso.org/public/news/eso1119/
This is M17 zoomable
http://www.eso.org/public/images/eso1119a/zoomable/
I loved the documentary on the 7 biggest telescopes where the VLT was featured as well.
is that the sensor area on top of the Omega CAM , the 268Mp camera

I found this image of two merging galaxies in their image archive. NGC 520
http://www.eso.org/public/images/potw1048a/
and then i ended up with the hubble catalog of interacting galaxies. I wonder if any of these are viable targets for amateur telescopes and if they're visible from our hemisphere.
