Galactic Center

This looked drop dead gorgeous last night to the naked eye.

Canon 550D @ ISO400
Tamron 90mm @ F4.5
18x3min unguided.

Another corker!. You're on a roll.
I don't know if you meant it but I thought I'd bring that to your attention from your other thread on Rho. You're not that far out!

Yes, the thought did pass my mind about a mosaic. I might make that my project for astrofest this year.
Having both pics side by side like that. You can definitely see the superiority of the Tamron over the Nifty 50.

Thanks everyone.
Wide field certainly does seem to suit the 550d.

Great colours and so much detail.

Very sharp.

Do you use In Camaera Noise Reduction?

Ross.

No ICNR. Just a little smoothing using the Carboni Actions.
Oh, and darks and flats.

Still looks lovely to me JJ. Another ripper widefield. That camera seems to be producing the goods for you. Doesn't look too noisy.
