Swamp fire with a pentax *istDS and a Canon 300D mod

took these very late last night of a swamp fire near home. one with the pentax and then one with the Canon Modified with no filters. What do you think?

both shots were 8 seconds iso 800. no processing was done to either image (except making it smaller)

That first one is a bizzare shot h0ughy. It looks like the flash from a giant welder.

Custom white what - is this something left over from apartheid?

No mate I am still finding buttons and features, very different to my pentax! I cannot get over the sensitivity of the cmos chip. That is one feature I will have to learn shortly.

I forgot to add the image scale is different between the cameras, 1.6x for the canon and 1.5x for the pentax, also the lenses were slightly different.
