Finderscope mount size

Hi,

I'm in the process of getting a finder scope for my Orion Scope that I got from Bintel and I was wondering if all finderscopes have the same mount.

The Orion Scope has a small mount at the eyepiece end intended for a finderscope. I have a finderscope on my LXD 75 SN10 but again it's a different size mount.

They are obviously not a dovetail as I have one of these on the Guide Scope for mounting to my LXD75 GEM.

Any leads here.

In my experience, the mounts can vary. Even dovetails that look close may be sufficiently different in size so they don't fit without a bit of work with a file!!!

Seems best to always get the baseplate to fit the specific foot, or vice-versa, to be sure of a fit.

Mmm. Another can of worms.

Oh well I was hoping for an easy solution. Never mind I'll get onto Bintel to see if they can help out.

Thanks for the info Erik.
