Lightbulb IISAC 2007 dates

Hi all.

Just planning for IISAC 2007, namely the dates for when to have it. A couple of factors have come into the equation, and it's looking at the moment like we'll have 2 IISAC events in 2007.

1) 18th-21st January 2007 (thu/fri/sat nights)
2) 11th-14th October 2007 (thu/fri/sat nights)

The reason for 2 dates:
- October is a better time of year. Not as hot, better weather patterns (more sunny days/clear nights).
- October 2007 is 20 months away, so we wanted to have something in the meantime (January 2007), and then move dates to October
- October 2006 is not good, as 1 bunkhouse is already booked, and i'm not sure I have the energy to organise another one this year.
- There are no other major star parties (around NSW) at that time of year.

The other possibility is to have a 2 night event (fri/sat) in January, followed by the 3 night event in October.

Comments/thoughts?

Oh No,
Thats twice as many sausages.

You can count me in Mike, I don't know about Erik though, he has a new job so I don't see him as much.

I will have my small Marquee repaired soon, (15 feet square) so that will be available if you want to utilise it.

Mike.

That'd be great, Mike.
I'm thinking of hiring a large Marquee as well, as if there's going to be more people, we need more undercover area.. especially if we get unlucky with the weather.

Lostock, matt!

Up in the Hunter Valley, 3.5 hours north of Sydney.

A few canberrans (bird and markus) came last time, it'd be great if you could make it.

No worries Iceman,
The marquee is actually like the Tardis, it can hold a lot of stuff.
10 bedrooms 4 bathrooms, 3 with en-suite.. and parking for 6 cars. LOL

But seriously, it can hold a lot of stuff., It can hold 20 musicians easily.

I can park my car in it and set up my camp bed as well.

I also have some lighting for it, but it is really bright, (500W) so not amenable for astronomy, but I might be able to aquire a 32V light and the transformer from work.

Mike

There's really no reason I can't be there, so Lostock it is!

Don't think I could bare to miss another one after sitting back and reading of the fun you guys had last time.
