Fans of the Snooker program "Pot Black" will be sad to hear of the death of Whispering Ted Lowe at 90 years old.

That's sad. I grew up watching Pot Black and listening to Whispering Ted.

My favourite memory of Ted is from an old Bloopers program. He is heard to say that, having potted a difficult red, a player is now moving on to the blue ball. And then he adds as an aside:

"For those of you without colour television, thats the one behind the pink (ball)"

A classic!
