The Jewel Box CDK17

I took this a few weeks ago.

I've often imaged the Jewel Box and found it to be an elusive target.

I am happier with this one than any previous attempt.

5 minute subexposures.

Planewave CDK17 and FLI Microline 8300, Astrodon Gen 11 filters.

LRGB 15 20 10 15

Hi Greg,
Beautiful image and colors! a question, it is possible that the focus is not perfect?
Cheers,

Hi Fabio,

Thanks.

I think the focus was fine, seeing wasn't too good at the time. It was also windy.
I sharpened it a bit more as much as I dare.

Greg.

Nice composition Greg. I've found that the jewel box is a very difficult set of stars to get the colour etc just right. Looks like you have done it.

Thanks Marc. I've tried many times to capture the Jewel Box but it always lacks something. This one whilst not the best around is the best I have gotten so far and something to improve on next time.

Thanks Allan. I find this one challenging.

A wonderful image of a wonderful cluster. Nicely processed, and I like the subtle thin diffraction spikes.

Thanks Rolf. It turned out not too bad.
