Southern Cross and Pointers

Hi everyone,

My shoulder surgery went well and I am now starting to gain some strength. Managed to get out last night to set up the camera ready for a DSO tonight.

55 Light frames 44 stacked each frame 90 seconds with only 26 Dark frames. A simple light weight 450 D unmodified, no light frames on this one but I am planning to add some later.

I have always wanted to capture this section of the sky in total, the standard 18 to 55 mm lens set to about 40 mm, slapped on top of a chunky EQ2 Mount with a drive motor that sounds like a chaff cutter.

I know that modifying the camera would allow more red but I am fairly happy especially after the surgery to be able to get out and do some imaging.

Seems a popular place to do some imaging I also shot this area not long ago. You have done a good job and the image looks nice and smooth.
