Crux

What an excellent way to spend Yuri's Night!!
My first night imaging in a long long time.
The moon of course washed out the sky, and I had to keep my subs down to just 3 minutes. But I managed 1hr and 48min of data all up.
Canon 20d (modded) @ iso400
Canon Nifty 50 @ f5
Stacked in DSS and processed in CS3.
I'm still a complete newb when it comes to processing data from a modded cam. So hints and tips are welcome.

OK OK I confess to processing with very tired eyes last night.
Here is this mornings rendition.

looks good JJJ
Maybe a slight hint of "contrast" ? might make some of the features come out a bit?
just a thought

Dunno anything about modded cameras either J as far as the balance goes

Hey jjj, I reckon Steve (Kinetic) is pretty spot on. The only thing I would do from his is remove some of the green background gradient, see attached. I also used a bit more saturation (my preference only).

I tend to use raw files and set a custom whitebalance.
