Fly on rose,BBBIF (Macro)

Hello.

I have not had much of a chance to do any photography lately. On Saturday I managed a few macro's in the garden,I thought I'd try my hand at some PP in CS5 and try doing some work in layers on this fly on rose, the second image is a crop.I captured a BBBIF which is rather difficult,The BBBIF images has had no PP.

Hope These are of interest,Thanks for looking

Chris

re macro

Thanks jjj,I was seriously thinking about buying a Tak a few weeks ago,but with the weather the way it is,Have given that thought away,I am very seriously considering the Canon 100 IS L macro,so much enjoyment is macro photography and the gear will actually get used more than 6 times a year! LOL

Cheers C

Bart, "bbbif" = blue-banded bee in flight, and "pp" = post-processing.

Cheers,
Stephen

Chris,

I know nothing of macro photography, but the bbb and the dragonfly are just stunning. I love the level of detail you can see in these shots.

I understand that with macro you need to get up close to the subject, but with the bee in flight, how do you actually get up close? I mean, presumably the bee is flying about. Do you just catch it on a flower and be happy to wait until it takes off or what?

Great pics

G'day Chris,
Love the last two captures, they are very sharp and the Big Bloody Bee is absolutely A1, are you sure you want to waste your money on IS, I'm not sure that it will improve your shots. Fantastic work - I love macrophotography, like you say, very enjoyable. It is amazing what lives within a few metres of our back doors.
Keep 'em coming....

Regards, Dutch
