Bell X1 RC

Nothing much to do up here the rain is relentless. I Found this amazing RC flying YouTube with a space race twist that may interest some of you.

Pretty impressive, and suprisingly aerobatic for such a large model!

Unfortunately it's not strictly correct.

The X-1 was launched from within the fuselauge, not hung from the wing. When the film 'The Right Stuff' was made back in the 80's they used a scale B-29 and X-1 about the same size as these ones. I think I still have the magazine article on it in the shed at the old's place.

Cheers,
Jason.

Tell me about it Mick I am starting to wonder if June will be any good for Eungella. It should be a perfect month but I wonder if we will see the stars at all this year. Am downloading the video to watch now.

Thanks

The pilot's bailed and then... "he's got it under control"... erm.. you mean the pilot that just bailed?
LOL

Whenever I see a model in inverted flight I'm just waiting for the pilot to pull back on the stick.

Good vid, shame about the music.
