Ngc5236 lrgb

Finally managed to duck some showers and add 12x10 min luminosity data capured with the QSI583 to my RGB data (24x5 min) captured with the QHY8 camera. Images were aligned and padded using Registar and then layered in PS3 as a luminosity layer at 70% opacity. No further manipulations were done and Im fairly happy with the final result as the QSI has added the fine detail that I was after.

Was viewing it myself last night before the rain came with a 4"APO always nice to have a good image for comparison. Especially like the two small galaxies captured below and the detail of the galaxy as a whole.

Looks nice Alan of this classic face on spiral that we claim as our own

Colours look really good and the only critique I would add is that we need to see a larger version to really see the structure better and also it looks as though the core is a little over cooked.

Apart from that, well done.

Rich

Looks good Allan. That Obs is really paying off in terms of grabbing the gaps in the clouds

Derek, yes it's my favorite face-on galaxy and I hope to get some more data as I want to see if there are any faint streamers associated with it.

Rich, have a bit more data that may warrant a Sidonio and then I'll attend to the core. Can't beat the 200 Kb limit I'm afraid.

Thanks David, have you got all sorted with your observatory yet? Did you upgrade your Maxdome II software to the latest version by flashing the board?
