Iapetus, Hyperion and others 13th March

Rhea, Dione and Tethys formed a nice triangle tonight in this cropped and reduced image of Saturn and moons. The exposures were only 1 sec each and Hyperion was just visible at mag 14.5. Phoebe was between Hyperion and Saturn, not visible at mag 16.7. Enceladus was too close to Saturn and Mimas was being occulted.

I am going to make a concerted effort to get longer exposures - the main limitation is the alt/az tracking on the 12" Goto Dob.

Also, a crop of tonight's Moon with saturated natural colour.

Cheers,

Tom

Nice arrangement and getting Hyperion is impressive.

John.
