A rarity for sure Steve , maybe too much red as shows up in star halo top right and detracts somewhat otherwise nicely done. Also the reference to the RCW catalogue was new to me and I've bookmarked the catalogue page
for those interested
Rodgers, Colin Campbell, and John Whiteoak, working at Australia's Mount Stromlo observatory under the direction of Dutch-American astronomer Bart Bok, published their nebula catalog in 1960.

Thanks Trevor. I probably should have cropped that star out.

Steve,
That nebula is a gem! I can imagine what an extra deep exposure on this region would yield. I think there's loads of dark dust around it.
Well done on going after one of the rarely imaged ones.

Nice one Steve.
Newbies should take note how well all the technical aspects have been handled here (focus, tracking, calibration, colour balance, highlight, shadow, noise etc.)
All good

Thanks Peter. I'm embarrassed by the generosity of your comments <g>.

Thanks Humayun. Yes there's lots of interesting structure in the dust there. A slightly more wide field shot might be interesting.

You got some nice fine detail of this rare object.
How do find these things?
Greg.

Thanks Greg. I just posted a reprocessed version which I think is rather better. I mostly use my copy of Hartung (second edition) to find likely imaging targets. I also do a lot of searching on the web.
Cheers

Thanks. You would have seen the reprocessed version which I think is better than the original post.
