Angry Melbourne weather

There must have been an explosion of telescope purchases in Victoria because it has literally turned from summer to winter overnight here in Melbourne. Today has been the coldest February day on record! It has not stopped raining all day and it does not seem to want to ease. Needless to say, nothing to see in the sky.

New scope owners of Victoria! Confess now, so this terrible curse may be lifted!

At least it's not as boring a slogan as "Beautiful one day, perfect the next."

Sorry chaps, somebody must have nudged the "Rain" button accidently (yes, I work at the BoM).

Certainly was a wild night here in Melbourne - very wet and very windy. Few big trees are over and on the roads around Oakleigh. Saw a few down on Huntingdale golf club also.

Yeah, like a "southern" tropical depression and now its going backwards and heading for SA. Damn. RR picked a good time to go to Coober Pedy. Must have read the crystal ball methinks.

As the infamous Graham Kennedy once said on TV here. "it would freeze the brass nuts of a F111".

Thanks Dave,

Luckily the room that got flooded was only the sunroom.

Drying out now. Lots of damage to wooden floor but I was going to replace it anyway! It is MDF and I want to put Baltic pine in.

Nothing compared to many many people with major damage. We got it easy.
