Saturn at 8.888AU, Moon at Perigee

Saturn this morning after 1am in Brisbane. The dark spot is making its way off the edge of the limb.

The Moon was at perigee at around 5pm and here it is at 11:05 pm local 353328km from the camera (33.8 arcmin). At this size it is only a few pixels shy of the sensor height of the 550D at prime focus of the 12" Sky-Watcher. I'll look for another shot of the Moon closer to apogee and post a comparison.

Cheers,

Tom
