Managed to get just over an hour on NGC1566 after seeing Greg Bradley's shot of this galaxy and was inspired to see if I could get something.
This is 16x5 min from home in Brisbane and wound up with a great gradient from Brisbane's light pollution.
This is a fine object and I know it needs a lot more data to do it justice but that will depend upon the weather being kind to me.
Taken with 10" SCT at f6.3 and QHY8.
Comments welcomed.
Not too shabby for a quicky Allan - I can even see some other fuzzies!
I think you may be able to get a tiny bit more detail from the arms though with a bit of selective sharpening (can post example if you like)?
