M81 - Holmberg IX - ARP Loop

Here we are .. after much work and some anger i gave birth to this project that I was still impressed.

Given the non-ideal seeing pull out the details was a tough fight, I do not know if I won but I am satisfied with trying.

I leave you the link to the page on my site to your own opinion, I hope you enjoy and that you will find interesting the various extrapolations of data that I did:

http://www.starkeeper.it/M81.htm

Thanks for looking.

Best wishes,
Leo

Great result Leo the Lion

Can't beat long exposures from dark skies

630min of Lum is a good amount of data, I'm not surprised you revealed so much.

Funny, several years ago the galactic cirrus in this area was either not revealed or if it was it was removed as a gradient , amazing how standards elevate

Lovely shot there Leo - worth all the hard work. Well balanced, nice and deep and it stands up well at full res too! Nicely done!

Watch out for those dark star halos though. And I'd probably treat the colour noise in the faint outer portions or gather more colour data to balance the depth in the Lum.

Cheers, Marcus

Thanks guys for your kind comments.

Mike incredible story you told

Marcus you are right, I think we will lose because his hands got a bit of discomfort for the painful seeing that affects every single bite put me demoralized and lose in processing.

Gradients and I can not pull off a decent color for the weaker party, too bad.

Greetings,
Leo

Lovely Galaxy Leo. The stars in the galaxy seem to have small blue Halos. I love the overall colour and detail in the galaxy though.

Overall the image looks great. Love the fine blue star detail in the outer arms of the galaxy. I really like the colour of the inner core but as has been pointed out the blue halos on the two foreground stars is a little distracting.

Superb work really and nicely showing the talents of the GSO RC scopes.
