Saturn Feb 8th RGB & IR animations

Hi All,

Imaged Saturn this morning over a session of just under 3 hrs.

The sky looked promising as I wandered down to my observatory at 2:30AM CSST but the seeing turned out to be fair, at best.

Have 4 RGB & 6 807nm IR images, both data sets show structure within the storm. I am particularly pleased with the IR data, the structure of the storm in IR is much more subtle but comes up quite well in my IR animation.

Have attached the 4 RGB images to this thread, also links to the RGB and 807nm IR animations which are on my website.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Excellent images Trevor. As you say, the NIR animation shows some extensive absorption structure - generally in regions where the vis band reflection is quite high, which is intriguing. Regards Ray

Thanks for the comments everyone, reckon we all could do with some good seeing to get some really hi res images of this storm while it is still so large and active.

Cheers
Trevor

Hate to see what you could do with great seeing Trevor,

I think you've nailed it already.
