What are its chances?

Captured this the other day. What do you think the chances are of this Mozzie getting a feed of the Beetle? I don't know what sort of Beetle it is, so if you can identify it, can you let me know please.

Regards, Dutch

LOL! I like the hitchhiker. Is it trying to go for the joint in between the armour? I watch a red-back wrapping up a struggling christmas beetle a few weeks back, but the spoder could not get in anywhere to bite. It tried the knee joints and all around under the face, but the beetle still survived. Not sure if a mozzie could get it's proboscis in.

Baz.
