A friend of mine from up here is looking for help for her son who is trying to become a fulltime golfer and needs somewhere to stay at Glen Waverley in March anyone able to help. If so just mention my name to them if you reply.

I am again on the lookout for a billet for our son Duane that is a golfer trying to make it to the next level. This time he is heading to Melbourne in March and is needing somewhere to stay at Glen Waverley or near by from around 9th March to 14th March. He will be playing golf at the Riversdale Golf Course competing in the Australian Foursome Championships and also in the Riverdale Cup. Then he is off to play in the Australian Amateur Championship at both Victoria Golf Club and Woodlands Golf Club, he will be needing a bed from March 15th to 23rd. I don’t think these two golf courses are far away from each other, Victoria Golf Club is in Cheltenhem and Woodlands Golf Club is in Mordialloc.
Duane has really come on since he has been able to compete in these major International events he is now playing off a handicap of 1. His dream is to obtain a scholarship to attend college and play golf in the USA, he has been offered one scholarship so things are really looking good for him. Without the support of billets it would not be impossible for him to be able to compete, it would be just too expensive for him and ourselves. Duane lives in Brisbane and with the recent flooding he has not been able to work at the golf club due to conditions so we would really appreciate any support for him. If anyone knows of anyone or has relations in Melbourne that could help us out we could provide references, all he would need is a bed, shower and a basic meal and if possible transport to and from the courses.
