Tonights Mind-blowing Fireworks for Australia Day

I have been to some pretty spectacular Fireworks displays in my time.

I vividly remember being on HMAS Perth in Sydney Harbour watching the 1970 Bi-Centennial display, a few Sydney News Years Eve displays (the largest in the world), a couple of Melbourne News Years Eve displays, some Royal Easter Show displays etc,
and for the last 10 or more years I also go to Ballarat's Australia Day displays.

My favourite part I always look forward to is the big climax at the end of each show where they go wild and let off an enormous amount of fireworks to end the show.

But tonights Ballarat Australia Day fireworks display over Lake Wendouree had the most spectacular ending I have ever seen!
My boys and Cheryl also said the same thing.

Man, it was HUGE!

I am a fireworks junkie and I thought I had seen the best of the best, and yet little old Ballarat blew me away tonight!!!!

How was your 'Australia Day' Celebrations?

Hi
I was on Garden Island for the bicentenial display 1988. If there was a display in 1970 I would have been out in the garden area at the north of the island.

I would have most certainly worked on HMAS Perth sometime on that visit. If I remember right Perth was having Ikara fitted at the time 1970. I would have been in the Coms area probably the aux W/O.

In 1988 I would have been on the veranda of the old hospital building. We used to get special tickets for any of the harbour exhibitions. I had the keys to that building at the time.
