From Rosette to Cone Nebula

Another image I took over the Christmas break. It took me a while to get the look I was happy with in the processing.

Taken from my dark site observatory under very good conditions.

FSQ106ED with reducer, FLI Proline 16803, Tak NJP mount.

Ha LRGB 60 70 30 30 30

Really needs more exposure to do it justice (I guess you know this though) but hey, a great FOV again and so many stars

Love the Cone perfectly positioned in the top left corner

How much more data do you have to process from you Andes like weather run.

Thanks Houghy. It is an interesting field. There is another big band of nebula just past the cone that I was originally considering to make a 2 panel mosaic out of. Perhaps a later project.

It is huge isn't it. I wanted to pick up and show some of the extra dimmer nebula around the Rosette that looks a tad like the stem of a rose.

Thanks Lester. The dark skies at my site help tremendously in picking up faint stuff.

Thanks Marcus. I have toned down the ha a bit mainly because it makes too many of my images way too red biased and I decided it wasn't a pleasing look and to go or try to go for a more colour balanced view if at the expense of a few red tendrils.
