Exclamation Storm

A storm passed through here about 2 hours ago Dumping 71mm in just over half an hour
My electronic weather station said we got 46,9mm ,but my glass vial registered 71mm
the wheel tracks of my 4x4 where like mini streams.
All the drying out of the ground over the last three days as gone out the window

Boy did that storm come out of nowhere . Lots of rain, wind, thunder and lightning. Everything that has just dried is all soaked again .

I'd ask for a window, but they might put me in that compartment that has NO window....
By the time I had polar alignment ready it would be time to turn around for the next leg...

The storm here was pretty pathetic yesterday afternoon but this morning it is still looking grey and overcast Hope this weather clears up by the end of the week and that the field dries out for you Ron, it will be the last time I'm able to use my friend's scope before she goes back to Canberra and then, no scope for me

Gorgeous clear sunshine here atm, after a feral overcast night, but satpic already shows high cloud roaring in from the west at superluminal velocities. Let's hope it erodes like a urinal cake as it hits the Vic border.

high cloud, low cloud, flooding torrential rain.... all the same thing

Yes Paul this valley seems to have it's own weather pattern
Finished up with 79mm for the 24 hours till 09:00 this morning
That 71mm is the most rain in one hour since I have been doing the weather in over three years
118mm for this month already
Cheers

Ron needs to build a duck pond, an underground aquarium, and a beaut little water park complete with slippery slides. You'll get more visitors when obs nights are a wash out.

It looks like I wont be going anywhere for the next few days as the Cambroon Bridge is under water and so Chinaman Creek gets impassable
It doesn't look good for Saturday

Wow! Nasty Ron.

Hope you've got plenty of cans stashed in the pantry.
I'm a sucker for a waterslide - I think Suzy's suggestion has merit....
