What should I spend my Royalties on??

Hello

My agent from the U.K has been in touch,I have had a 'bumper crop' for December royalties and 'usage requests' on my 'moon/plane;' image.

I have enough funds from December to buy one of the following 'packages'

I really did not except anything when I took that image, but this is the third month I have received payment for it,I expect this will be the last,so have to make the right purchase, thought some of the engineers' here might like to help.

Here are my thoughts.

1. A canon 7D

2.A vixen GPDX2 mount.

3. A canon 100 mm F 2.8 (non L) macro lens,some storage cases,and a tripod,and some other items for other hobbies.

Which I the three do you think I should buy?,I feel that my interest in astronomy is wanning so the mounts' low on the list-I think I used my gear 6 times last year. The camera-I have two good bodies-but.......

Package 3 ,I think is at top of list,at moment,I would use a 'top of the line' macro the most, which I feel is what kit is all about-using it!.I could also buy a 'Topaz pop' program too.

Look forward to your thoughts on how I should spend my earnings from this unique event.

Cheers Chris

I'm just pleased to hear someone is making some money out of something as 'one-off' as a photo. I'd keep taking the photos and get them up on your website. When the royalties start flooding in, then I'd spend them on something 'investment' rather than more hardware. Your current set up sounds like it may be capable of earning more money.

Half ya luck! good on you.

I'm not sure the options you've listed are really a worthwhile upgrade from what you have. Perhaps save it for a bigger purchase later on.

Chris - I think Roger (and Rick) might be on the right track here. That money seems to be burning a hole in your pocket... Nothing wrong with sitting on it for a while.

re winnings

Thanks all,yes I think I might sit on my hands for a while.

There are a few items I am interested, but will wait and see if any 'sales'

come along.

There was a few items from U.S I was interested in,very small non astronomy things, but the postage was rediculous!

I just got an email, from one supplier saying the postage would be $63! for
'express' postage on a few items weighing less than 2 kg,so that turned me off spending.

Thanks for your thoughts.Cheers Chris
