Want to win a Noble?

In these days of easy access to information you to can be in the running to win a noble prize in any field you choose.
All you need is...
1). An internet connection.
2). The ability to post on blogs , even better you can start your own.
3). The ability to link to other noble prize fast trackers blogs.
4). The ability to read popular press articles on your chosen field.
5). The ability to ignore the known facts.
6). Display utter contempt of actual working scientist.
7). It’s handy to have an unshakable confidence in your own abilities despite over welling evidence of your utter ignorance.

Things you shouldn't do.
1). Read actual science journals about your chosen subject.
2). Learn even the basics of your chosen field of study.

Do all these things and you will be well on your way. After all we all know that famous saying in science "If I have seen further then it is on the shoulders of giants" is just PC crap!

Not sure what the point of this thread is . I means you could throw Watson and Crick into this catergory (excepting the internet). He/she who solves the puzzle wins, there is no stipulation that that the winner must have done 50 years research chipping away at the coalface.

When I read the heading for this thread I thought it was about some competition to win a Noble - which is an Edwardian (Edward III) gold coin and would certainly be worth winning. Alas, it's nothing that interesting.

Here is some trivia.

Andre Geim is the only scientist to have won both the Nobel and Ig Nobel prizes.

He won the 2010 Nobel prize for physics for his work on graphene and the 2000 Ig Nobel prize for his studies on levitating frogs using magnets.

Geims work in levitating frogs may have provided the catalyst for his 2010 award.

It is up to the Nobel Committee.

True, the Peace Prize is a tad iffy (Henry Kissinger???!!!), but with the rest you actually have to prove or discover something (except maybe economics, where a jolly good explanation will do).
BTW Crick and Watson were way smarter than their competitors because they figured it out first. THAT'S why you win the prize. Any idiot can slave away nobley for 50 years and never come up with a solution.
