Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D)

Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) camera body with sensor filter replaced with quartz window.
Camera has full sensitivity to UV, visual and near infrared parts of spectrum.
Unlike similar mods which remove filter alltogether, this one has sensor still protected and can be used for:
1) UV-VIS-IR spectrum capture (main reason to do this mod).
2) regular daylight photography with lenses + X-Nite CC1 correcting filter (camera will autofoces, measure exposure etc, like unmodified one)
3) infrared photography - if IR filter is attached to lens

All of that means that you have normal and IR camera together with a specialized dectector for spectroscopy in a single body.

Having quartz instead of sometimes used glass preserves full sensitivity in UV - especially if you use mirror telescope for acquiring spectra.

One can as well use it for astrophotography in red/infrared region (with Lumicon photographis H-alpha filter, for example) to remove effects of light pollution in suburbs.

Camera is near new condition - no marks of anykind, anywhere. It was used very lightly and infrequently by previous owner but I never got around to using it. Includes abattery, charger, manual, Canon CDs, strap, cables etc as well as removed internal Canon filte, plus a new 2GB CF card.
18-55mm EF-S lens (new, never used)is also included !!!

$400 + Postage

I am interested in this camera. What does this mean at the end of your message, "as well as removed internal Canon filte". Is this classed as a modified DSLR ? or is it more modified than a standard MOD.

Could you PM me.

Cheers,
Brett.
