Major Cities - Observation Points

Hi,

May have been asked before, but anyway.

Is there something on the site giving the best observation points for dragging your scopes to in major cities.

I for one, live in western sydney ( Mt Druitt ), around 10-20 km west of me are the Blue Mountains, and I know that there is a bi-monthly gathering at Linden.

But, if I choose to just grab the scope, and head west/noth/east/south, from here, where should I go ? I'm sure there must be others who have had the same problem - where to go.

As a newbie, that would make a nice sticky

Regards,

Lance

Lance, you can always do what I did when looking for our (WAACers), current site. Take a map & go for a drive around during the late??? afternoon & try to find a few likely sites fairly close together..... That way, by the time you've found the 'last', (furthest), one, it's dark enough to make a fair evaluation of them all, as you drive past them on your way home. Make any sense out of this?? L.
