EQ5 synscan goto mount

for sale is:

1 EQ5 mount (an Orion SkyView Pro) with steel tripod
4 counterweights for above - 2 large/2 small - (balances my 8" newt)
1 Orion EQ5 goto upgrade to suit above mount.
1 USB serial adaptor for EQMOD that I bought from Dontronics

All of the above for $500 plus shipping.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought this mount about a year ago, and have been using it to learn, begin autoguiding etc - but now it is time to move on.

This is a fantastic mount for visual use - will carry up to an 8" newt, although not in a stiff breeze . smaller refractors are no problems at all.

I have struggled with autoguiding this mount - probably due equally to my own and the mounts shortcomings. There have been times when it all seems to go smoothly, and other times when I would happily put it in the path of an oncoming train (after taking off the synscan...) At the moment it will guide happily for a short while, but then there is a slight jump in the DEC axis. It still needs some adjustment (most likely to the dec worm) which it seems I have neither the skill nor the patience for.

The price mostly reflects the cost of the synscan goto system, which I bought in October 2009 for $720 off Ron at Sirius Optics. The extra counterweights were $80 or $90 from York Optical (may they rest in peace). The mount I bought 2nd hand off astrobuysell in September 2009 for $250.

All up I have spent over $1000.

PRICE: $500

will ship via courier at buyers expense, but prefer pickup.
For those who already have an EQ5 mount, I will sell just the Orion goto upgrade for $450 including postage

Thanks
Adam

sorry Jen! had one of those nights - came home from work, put the kids to bed and promptly fell asleep on the couch!

I am only working half day today so will put some up this afternoon.

Courier should not be expensive to Swan Hill.

I just sent EQ5Pro Synscan, from Adelaide to NSW for less than $30. Total weight was about 25kg. That was also door to door.

sorry to all those who PM'd about the confusing post - it was hard to work out what was included. I had this listed in the accessories section and the mounts section. I have asked the mods to remove the accessories ad, and have clarified the original post in this thread.

Any questions, let me know.

Cheers
