Design and build of a new telescope

I found this thread on a machining forum on which I lurk.
It's still in the design stages but may be of interest to ATM builders here.

He's a bit serious ain't he. I see a degree of over engineering for a 10" according to the advice I got when building mine. Now if he was building a 16" or something worthwhile then I would understand but ...

I also see a lot of aggro from a few posters, something I have yet to see here.
